Paycm Controversy: The Karnataka Police has arrested five Congress workers in connection with the PCM poster controversy that targeted Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and the ruling BJP. Police sources said that all those arrested are associated with the social media wing of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). The arrested have been identified as BR Naidu, former president of KPCC social media, and Gagan Yadav, Pawan, Sanjay and Vishwanath, residents of Devadandra in Bengaluru KKR Puram.

What is this Paycm

High Grounds and Sadashivnagar Police have carried out the operation following the instructions of CM Bommai to initiate investigation in this regard and arrested the accused. Posters of PayCM were put up on the streets of Bengaluru with CM Bommai’s QR code. If someone scans the QR code printed on the poster, a website opens. According to Congress, people can register complaints against corruption on this website.

The war of QR code posters continues in the ruling BJP and Congress over allegations of corruption against each other. The opposition Congress first released the PCM poster and the BJP on Wednesday responded with a QR code poster featuring Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah and state Congress president DK Shivakumar.

‘This is tarnishing the image of the state’

Authorities ordered BBMP personnel to remove posters from walls and other installations in Bengaluru. BJP MLC M. Ravikumar said that Congress leaders have used our CM to campaign, Rahul Gandhi should make his payment. Responding to a question about the PayCM poster, CM Bommai said that he has ordered a probe into the issue as to who is behind the propaganda. “It is not about my image, they are trying to malign the image of the state and hence action will be taken against them,” he said.
