Bihar Politics: The disputes related to the newly formed Grand Alliance government in Bihar are not taking the name of ending. The department of Karthik Singh, which was surrounded by controversies after taking oath as the minister, was changed on Wednesday. Karthik Singh, who was made Law Minister after taking oath, was given the Sugarcane Industries Department on Wednesday. However, by the end of the evening, Karthik Singh resigned from the post of minister, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar accepted his resignation.

Shamim Ahmed appointed as new law minister

The inclusion of Kumar in the cabinet despite his alleged involvement in a kidnapping case was heavily criticized by the opposition. Earlier on Wednesday, Bihar Chief Secretary Amir Subhani had issued a notification, according to which, on the advice of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in the light of an order dated August 30 by the Governor’s Secretariat, Karthik Singh was replaced by the Law Department and the Sugarcane Industries Department. Shamim Ahmed was given the work of Law Department in place of Sugarcane Industries Department till further orders.

BJP attacked as soon as Karthik took oath

Karthik was sworn in as a minister from his party’s quota in the newly formed Grand Alliance government led by Nitish Kumar on August 16. As soon as Karthik was sworn in, the BJP had demanded his removal from the ministerial post, questioning his inclusion in the cabinet despite being named in a 2014 kidnapping case. At the same time, on August 17, when asked about the allegations leveled against Karthik, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had said that he had no knowledge in this matter.

Tejashwi and Lalu had defended Karthik

Speaking on the issue, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav had said on August 18, “After the warrant, the court has provided interim protection against arrest. He has not been convicted by the court yet. We will follow the court’s directions.” ” On the other hand, when asked about allegations of pending arrest warrant against Karthik, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad had said about Sushil, “It’s all wrong.”

CPI-ML had said that the image of the government was bad

The Communist Party of India (ML), which has been backing the Nitish Kumar-led Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar from outside, said on August 17 that retaining the law minister would tarnish the government’s image. At present, 7 parties in the Grand Alliance are Janata Dal United, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress, CPI(ML), CPI, CPI(M) and Hindustani Awam Morcha.
