This is the story of a man named Kuldeep Yadav who spent 28 years in Pakistani jail and has now returned to his home. Kuldeep, who recently turned 59, was caught in a espionage case in Pakistan in 1994 and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Friendship with Sarabjit in Kot Lakhpat Jail

When Kuldeep was sent to Pakistan in 1991, he served the country for 3 years. In 1994, when he was planning to return to India, he was arrested by the Pakistani agency and presented before the court. For two years, different agencies interrogated Kuldeep. In 1996, he was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Pakistani court, after which he was imprisoned in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail. Here Kuldeep Yadav was friends with Sarabjit of Punjab, who was convicted as a terrorist and spy in Pakistan. But later he was killed in an attack by prisoners lodged in a Pakistani jail. Let us tell you that during that time the prisoners of Pakistan and India were kept in the same barrack. After Sarabjit’s death, he was kept in separate barracks there.

The family could not recognize on the return home

Last week, the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered the release of Kuldeep and he has been sent to India on August 28 from the Bagha border. Kuldeep was in Pakistan’s Kot Lakhpat Jail, where his sister used to send him Rakhi but after 2013 he lost contact with his brother Kuldeep. Although she still used to send her brother for the safety of her brother and now after 28 years Rekha got her brother back. On his return home after 28 years, it was becoming very difficult for his family to recognize Kuldeep.

After reaching home from Pakistani jail, Kuldeep breathed a sigh of relief, but he feels that his examination is not over yet, as he is now worried about his livelihood. Now Kuldeep hopes that he will get help from the government and the people. At present, Kuldeep is about 60 years old, it is very difficult to get a job anywhere. After serving his country for 30 years, today he is dependent on his younger brother Dilip and sister. Kuldeep is hopeful that the government will compensate him by treating him like a retired soldier. They will be given land for farming, pension and land to build houses.
