Haryana businessman returning home shot dead in Gurugram police engaged in investigation

Haryana: A 32-year-old scrap dealer was allegedly shot dead by two brothers on Bhoda Khurd Road under Bilaspur Police Station area in Gurugram, Haryana. The police gave this information on Friday.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Sumit Chauhan, a resident of Bhoda Kalan (son Patti) village. Police said Chauhan had worked with several companies in the area. He said the incident happened late on Thursday night. Police said it appeared that the murder was due to business enmity. Chauhan was returning home on his motorcycle at 11.15 pm with a friend sitting behind him. When the vehicle reached Bhoda Khurd road, two persons, who are brothers, came on bike and started firing at Chauhan.

The attackers fired 7 bullets

Police said Sumit was shot in the back and he fell from his motorcycle and after that the assailants fired 7 bullets at him and fled from the spot. Chauhan’s friend informed the family members and took him to Medanta Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. A case has been registered in this regard at Bilaspur police station.

Police said the accused have been identified as Jogendra alias Kalu Ram and his brother Honey. Police station inspector Ajay Malik said the accused have been identified and efforts are on to nab them.

A BJP leader was murdered the previous day

The miscreants fired bullets at the Vice Chairman of Market Committee Sohna and BJP leader Sukhbir Khatana at Raymond’s showroom near Agarwal Dharamshala. He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared brought dead. After committing the crime, they fled waving their weapons. Civil Line Police Station has started investigation by registering a case of murder of BJP leader.
