IMD Delhi Weather: People living in Delhi-NCR met with rain on Thursday morning. The weather has turned pleasant due to rains in the national capital and its adjoining areas. On Wednesday also, there was good rain in many areas, due to which the weather became pleasant. Along with this, there was a drop in the temperature of Delhi NCR as well. People have got a lot of relief from the heat and humidity. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for the next 48 hours. According to this, there is a possibility of rain in the capital for the next three days.

Rain continues in Noida, Greater Noida since morning

It is raining in Noida and Greater Noida adjoining Delhi since this morning. Since morning, the sky was covered with thick clouds and intermittent drizzle continues. This has given relief to the people from the heat. Moderate rain occurred in many areas of the capital Delhi on Wednesday. This also led to waterlogging at many places. It also affected the traffic at many places.

Delhi’s air clear and weather pleasant

Delhi’s primary meteorological station Safdarjung Observatory recorded 2.8 mm of rain during the day on Wednesday. The weather stations at Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge, Ayanagar, Mungeshpur, Sports Complex and Mayur Vihar recorded 5.9 mm, 3.2 mm, 2.6 mm, 2 mm, 10 mm, 5.5 mm and 6.5 mm of rain respectively. This will help in increasing the rainfall figures so far in the month of September. The air will also be clear and the weather will also be pleasant. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25.1 degree Celsius on Wednesday. While the maximum temperature was 34.1 degrees. Talking about the average 24-hour air quality, its quality index closed at 109 at 4 pm on Wednesday, which was in the moderate category.

Rainy season in Delhi-NCR, but less than normal

The Meteorological Department i.e. IMD said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some parts of Delhi on Thursday as well. Delhi’s primary meteorological center Safdarjung Observatory has recorded only 52.9 mm of rain in September so far, which is much less than the normal 104.8 mm. The month of August had recorded 41.6 mm of rain which is the lowest during the last 14 years. According to the Meteorological Department, a total of 405.3 mm of rain has been recorded in Delhi since the onset of monsoon from June 1, while the capital normally receives 621.7 mm of rain during this period.
