Multiplex in Kashmir : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the first multiplex in Srinagar today. After nearly three decades, cinematic splendor has returned to the Valley of Kashmir. After a long wait, the people of Kashmir have got a chance to watch movies on the big screen. India TV Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma was present as the special guest at the inauguration of the multiplex.

Special screening of Lal Singh Chaddha

A special screening of the film Lal Singh Chaddha took place today at the inauguration of Kashmir’s first multiplex in Sonawar area of ​​Srinagar. People were eagerly waiting for the opening of this multiplex. People say that now they will not have to go out of the valley to watch Bollywood movies on the big screen.

Regular shows will start from 30th September

Eminent businessman Vijay Dhar had planned to open the first multiplex in Kashmir, which was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today. Vijay Dhar is also the owner of a reputed private school in Srinagar. The multiplex has been opened to the general public along with the special screening of Lal Singh Chaddha. The regular shows will begin with the screening of ‘Vikram Vedha’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan from September 30.

The multiplex has a capacity of 520 seats.

Kashmir’s first multiplex has three movie theaters with a total capacity of 520 seats. There is also a ‘Food Court’ in the premises with an aim to promote local cuisine. The scheduled inauguration of multiplex run by INOX comes at a time when Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated one multiplex each in Pulwama and Shopian districts on Sunday. Cinema halls in the Valley have reopened after three decades. In 1989-90, theater owners closed cinema halls in the Valley due to threats and attacks by terrorists.
