According to the National Center for Seismology, the quake struck at 2.30 a.m., 431 km southeast of Campbell Bay, with a magnitude of 6.1. The depth of the earthquake was below 75 km. No loss of life or property has been reported so far. Earthquake tremors were felt in Andaman and Nicobar Islands a few days back. According to the Seismology Centre, a 4.9 magnitude earthquake struck Diglipur, 108 km northeast of the island, with a depth of 10 km below the ground.

Before the earthquake in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands located in the south of India, earthquake tremors were also felt in the North East state of Manipur on Friday morning.

Strong earthquake tremors occurred at 10.02 am on Friday morning, 100 km southeast of Moirang in Manipur. Its magnitude was 4.5 on the Richter scale. ANI gave this information by quoting the National Center for Seismology. Due to the strong tremors of this earthquake, people got scared and came out of the houses and stood on the road. However, as of now, there is no report of any casualty or loss of life or property. According to local residents, many objects kept in the houses started shaking amidst the tremors of the earthquake.

Recently, earthquake tremors were felt in Kargil

Earlier, earthquake tremors were felt in Kargil, the world’s highest war site. The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 4.3 on the Richter scale. According to media reports, the impact of the earthquake was felt around Ladakh. The depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground.

There was also an earthquake in Leh

At the same time, earthquake tremors were felt recently, about 189 km north of Alchi in Leh. The magnitude of the earthquake was estimated at 4.8. According to the National Center for Seismology, the depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground. There was no loss of life or property due to the earthquake.

A few days ago also mild tremors of earthquake were felt in Alchi. The earthquake then measured 4.2 on the Richter scale. It is said that people were busy in their work in the morning at the time of the earthquake which had occurred here in the past. At the same time the earth shook and people came out of the houses in fear when the doors and windows vibrated due to the earthquake.

It is said that the small tremors of an earthquake give a warning before a major earthquake. In such a situation, it is prudent to start preparing in advance for the least loss of life and property. In a media report, AK Shukla, former head of the National Center of Seismology, has been quoted as saying that no such machine has been made, which can predict earthquakes.
