Uttar Pradesh News: Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli police has arrested a person for burning the tricolor and uploading the video of the incident on social media. The accused Narendra Saini (27) has been arrested from Shivgarh. He has been booked under section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act for insulting the national flag.

Did this when I didn’t get a job

Ram Kishore Singh, Zonal Officer, Maharajganj, said that preliminary inquiry revealed that the youth was frustrated due to lack of job and not performing well in studies. He also had a fight with his parents about three months ago, after which he left the house and started living with his maternal grandparents. No criminal record of the accused or any of his family members has been found, he said. He is not a supporter of the ideology of any political organization.

Arrested from Nana Nani’s house

In the early hours of September 16, the accused uploaded an objectionable video of burning the tricolor. SHO Rakesh Chandra said, a team was formed, which first reached the house of the accused and found him at his grandparents’ house. Later on Saturday evening he was arrested from Jagdishpur village of Shivgarh area.

People raised demand for arrest on social media

As soon as the video of Narendra burning the tricolor was put on social media, people started protesting over it. Many people commented and said that he should be arrested. Some people had also tagged the police and demanded strict action against this young man. People used to say that no matter how much you are upset with the government or system, it does not mean that you insult the national flag of your country in this way. Police has arrested the accused and now legal action will be taken against him.
