NIA Raid on PFI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids on the premises of Popular Front of India (PFI) in many states of the country. In this regard, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting on Thursday and inquired about the entire matter. Home Ministry sources said that Amit Shah has held a meeting with senior officials associated with the investigating agencies. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla and NIA DG were also present in this meeting. Amit Shah has taken information on the entire raid. Apart from this, the Home Minister has also asked to ensure the security of NIA officers and offices.

According to the information, on August 29, Home Minister Amit Shah had an important meeting with top officials of the investigating agencies, in which different agencies were instructed to take major action on PFI in a coordinated manner. Regarding this, NIA has arrested 106 people of PFI by raiding in about 11 states of the country late at night. The NIA has termed it the ‘biggest investigation operation ever’.

NIA’s big action across the country

In the matter of running terror funding and camps across the country, big action has been seen against PFI i.e. Popular Front of India today i.e. on Thursday. In about 11 states of the country including UP, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, NIA and ED teams have raided the homes of PFI’s state to district level leaders and arrested more than 100 of its members. The NIA has termed it as the “biggest investigation operation ever”.

NIA has arrested PFI National President OMS Salam and Delhi President Parvez Ahmed. Meanwhile, the security of the NIA headquarters in Delhi has been beefed up. According to the alert issued by the Intelligence Department, PFI has made Pune its hub at this time, in which many training programs are going on. At the same time, SDPI is also running its membership drives in Jalna and Aurangabad. Let us inform that there have been arrests from Mumbai to Rajasthan.

Arrests in 11 states

According to sources, multiple agencies led by the NIA conducted simultaneous raids in 11 states on Thursday morning and arrested 106 Popular Front of India (PFI) activists allegedly involved in funding terrorism in the country. Officials said that Kerala (22), Maharashtra (20), Karnataka (20), Tamil Nadu (10), Assam (9), Uttar Pradesh (8), Andhra Pradesh (5), Madhya Pradesh (4), Puducherry (3), Delhi (3) and Rajasthan (2). The head of PFI has been arrested in many states.
