Congress Presidential Election: Senior party leaders and Rajya Sabha members as the race for the post of President in Congress intensifies. Digvijay Singh He said on Friday that he was not interested in becoming the party president. The Congress has started preparations for the election of the party president by issuing a notification on Thursday. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday made it clear that he will contest for the post of party president. After a gap of two decades, the election for the party’s top post looks bleak, with Gehlot and party leader Shashi Tharoor likely to go head-to-head in the polls.

Former Union Minister Manish Tewari, Former Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath And Digvijay Singh, including Mukul Wasnik and Prithviraj Chavan, were also in the news as potential contenders but many of them have ruled out running for the top post. Speaking to reporters here, Singh said, “I have already said and reiterated that I am not interested in becoming the national president of the party.” had arrived to pay homage at the tomb of Swamiji passed away recently.

Digvijay’s statement on Bhagwat

Singh said that they (RSS cadre) should stop creating differences and feelings of enmity between communities on religious lines.

‘People’s reaction to Bharat Jodo Yatra exceeds party’s expectations’
Responding to a question, he said that the reaction of the people to the Bharat Jodo Yatra is more than the expectations of the party. On BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad terming the yatra as “Gandhi Parivar Bachao Yatra”, Singh said, “His (Prasad’s) definition of family is limited to the Sangh Parivar whereas Congress’ definition of family is the whole world.” We believe in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and the Indian Sanatani tradition.
