IIT New Directors: The country’s President Draupadi has approved the appointment of directors of eight different IIT institutes in the country. Giving official information in this regard, the Union Education Ministry said on Monday night that after the approval from the President, now all these IITs will be able to get new directors.

The IITs whose directors have been approved by President Draupadi Murmu are IIT Goa, IIT Palakkad, IIT Tirupati, IIT Dharwad, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Bhilai and IIT Jammu.

The President is the visitor of all the IITs in the country.

Significantly, the President of India is the visitor of all the IITs in the country. Therefore, the President also has the right to appoint directors here. In exercise of these same powers, the President has appointed Professor A Seshadri Shekhar as Director for IIT Palakkad, Professor KN Satyanarayana as Director of IIT Tirupati and Professor Venkappaiah R Desai as Director of IIT Dharwad.

Professor Prakash appointed as the new Director of IIT Bhilai

At the same time, the President has appointed Professor Rajiv Prakash as the Director for IIT Bhilai. Professor Rajat Moona will be the new director of IIT Gandhinagar. Professor Shripad Kamalakar is the new Director of IIT Bhubaneswar. The President has appointed Professor Pasumarthi Seshu as the Director of IIT Goa. Similarly, Professor Manoj Singh Gaur has been appointed as Director for IIT Jammu.

Earlier, during the program held on Monday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that IITs are not just educational institutions, but they are temples to develop scientific temper and ensure a bright future for humanity. He also said that our society has high expectations from all the IITs. Our students getting education in IITs will have to be the guides of progress and development. He said that the day is not far when the whole world will come to IIT Madras to benefit from the Brain Research Centre. Innovative ideas like 3D-printing technology can revolutionize the construction sector, go a long way in solving displacement issues and give a dignified life to the poor.
