Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh had also garnered considerable support on the law and order issue in the 2022 election season. The latest NCRB report is also confirming the claims of the government. As per the 2021 NCRB data, 378 cases of communal violence were registered across the country but only one in Uttar Pradesh. Talking about other states as compared to UP, 100 cases were registered in Maharashtra, 77 in Jharkhand, 51 in Bihar and 40 in Haryana. At the same time, not a single case of communal violence was registered in UP in 2019 and 2020.

Decrease in crime against children and women

The NCRB data also showed that crime against women and children has come down significantly in Uttar Pradesh. According to the data, 18,943 cases of crime against children were registered in Uttar Pradesh in 2019 which decreased to 16,838 in 2021. There were 59,853 cases of crime against women in 2019 which came down to 56,083 in 2021. In this way, crime against women has decreased by 6.2 percent in 2021 as compared to 2019, while crimes against children have decreased by 11.11 percent.

11416 cases of cyber crime were registered in 2019
Talking about cybercrime, 11,416 cases were registered in UP in 2019, which decreased by 22.6 percent to 8,829 in 2021. ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that the police in the state is doing its duty well and this is the reason that the crime rate has come down. He said that NCRB data is also showing evidence of reduction in crime rate. He said that the policy of zero tolerance against criminals would continue in the state and there would be no leniency against crime and criminals at any cost.

Samajwadi Party made a big attack on Yogi government
Although Samajwadi Party attacked the UP government, saying the state was ‘number one in custodial deaths’. Responding to the NCRB figures, SP spokesperson Sunil Singh Sajan said, “When rioters and communal rioters have joined the government, naturally the riots will subside.” BJP is ready for debate on NCRB riots report, but will BJP people also debate on NCRB data which states that UP is number one in custodial deaths.
