PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday gave the youth of the country the mantra of “skill, innovative skills and extra skills”. Along with this, PM Modi asked them to constantly innovate and update their skills according to the changing times. He said that the Central Government will open more than 5,000 new ‘Skill Centers’ to promote skill development in the country. Addressing the first convocation of ITI (Industrial Training Institute) students online, Modi said that along with the advancement of technology in the country, employment opportunities are also increasing.

PM Modi said, “You also have to update your skills according to the future. That’s why your mantra should be ‘Skilling, Reskilling and Upskilling’. He said that students should keep an eye on developments in their fields. He said that the first ITI was established in 1950 and after that in seven decades about 10,000 ITIs were opened in the country. The Prime Minister said that during the tenure of his government in the last eight years, about 5,000 new ITIs were opened.

More than four lakh seats were increased in institutions

The Prime Minister said that more than four lakh seats were added in institutions during this period. He said that experience based learning has also been promoted under the new education policy. Modi said, “You all are seeing how India has become a leader in the fields of renewable energy, solar energy, electric vehicles. Starting courses related to these fields in various ITIs will facilitate the job seekers.
