The Phase 1 extension is the first section of direct work by the Kochi Metro Rail Limited.

With the inauguration of Phase 1A, the Kochi Metro will cover a distance of 27 km with 24 stations. Modi had inaugurated the first phase of the metro here in 2017. Modi will visit the Adi Shankaracharya Janmabhoomi area, the birth place of Adi Shankaracharya, at Kalady village near the Cochin airport on Thursday. Navy’s strength will increase

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described India’s first indigenously built aircraft carrier ‘Vikrant’ as a fine example of ‘Make in India’ and congratulated the Navy on its historic achievement of sea trials. The much-awaited trial of Vikrant at sea began on Wednesday. It is the largest and largest warship built in the country. It has been built at a cost of around Rs 23,000 crore. Its weight is 40,000 tons. This aircraft carrier is about 262 meters long and 62 meters wide. 30 fighter aircraft and helicopters can be deployed on it. A fleet of MiG-29K fighters and Ka-31 helicopters will be deployed on the aircraft carrier Vikrant.

With this, India has become one of the few countries with the unique capability to design, manufacture and develop state-of-the-art aircraft carriers indigenously. Vikrant has been built by Cochin Shipyard Limited. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also described Vikrant’s landing in the sea as a true testimony of the country’s unwavering resolve for self-reliance.
