Tripura News BJP workers going to attend JP Nadda rally attacked 40 injured

Tripura News: At least 40 party workers were injured in an attack by “militants” who were on their way to attend BJP national president JP Nadda’s rally at Khumulwang in West Tripura district on Monday. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday said that 25 of the injured party workers have been admitted to the hospital. One of the injured is in critical condition. He assured strict action against the culprits.

So many incidents of attacks took place in these districts

JP Nadda had held the rally this year while launching the party’s campaign for the upcoming village committee (gram panchayat) elections and next year’s assembly elections. Inspector General (Law and Order) Arindam Nath said on Tuesday, “40 BJP workers have been injured in seven incidents of attacks in West Tripura and Sepahijala districts. They were on their way to attend JP Nadda’s rally at Khumulwang, the headquarters of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

Fifteen miscreants have been identified

Inspector General (IG) Arindam Nath said that fifteen miscreants have been identified so far and notices have been issued to them under the law. Condemning the attacks, Chief Minister Saha said such incidents would not be tolerated. He directed the police to register a case against all those involved in the attacks.
