Canada News Indian student injured in firing in Canada's Ontario dies

Canada News: A 28-year-old Indian student, who was injured in a shooting incident in Ontario, Canada, has died. Two other people were also killed in a shooting in the province of Ontario on Monday. Satwinder Singh died at Hamilton Government Hospital, Hilton Regional Police Service (HRPS) said in a statement on Saturday. He breathed his last in the presence of family and friends. According to the statement, Singh was a student from India who worked part-time in ‘MK Auto Repairs’. “HRPS extends its condolences to Singh’s family and friends and to the community affected by the horrific incident,” the statement said. The owner of ‘ Shakeel Ashraf (38) was killed.

The attacker was killed by the police

The attacker, identified as 40-year-old Sean Petrie, was gunned down by police in Hamilton. Sarabjot Kaur, a sister of Singh’s relative, told the newspaper ‘Toronto Star’ that on Saturday afternoon, Singh’s father had allowed the hospital to remove his ‘life support’. Kaur told that Singh’s father had last met her before the global pandemic.

Indian student’s father reached Canada after the incident

He works as a driver in Dubai and arrived in Canada after the incident. On the other hand, GoFundmi (a fundraising platform) had raised more than $35,000 till Sunday to help Singh’s family take his body to India.
