Shanghai suspended ferry services on Sunday and deployed 50,000 policemen to help clear traffic from danger areas and assist rescue workers.

Cyclone Hinamor is the most powerful cyclonic storm to have occurred in 2022 and is predicted to move towards the East China Sea. People are being evacuated and flights have been suspended from Okinawa, Japan. Due to the cyclone, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the Korean Peninsula. According to the Hong Kong Observatory, the cyclone could have a maximum wind speed of 175 kilometers per hour.

Yellow alert issued in China

China’s National Meteorological Center issued a ‘yellow alert’ at 10 am on Sunday and predicted heavy rain in the northeastern provinces of Shijiang, Shanghai and Taiwan. Hinamnor is the biggest cyclone of this year. Due to the cyclonic storm, heavy rain and strong winds are blowing in Taiwan and Korea. More than 50,000 policemen have been deployed in Shanghai to stop ferry services. These policemen are doing rescue work in the danger areas. Along with this, they are also showing the way to the people trapped there.

Heavy rain threatens Japan

All classes in Wenzhou’s Eastern Business Hub have been suspended due to bad weather. The storm has increased the risk of heavy rain and flooding in Japan. Along with this, a warning has also been issued in Xinjiang, Shanghai and Taiwan regarding heavy rains. Sea-going ships have been asked to return to shores. Apart from this, people have also been asked to avoid stepping out of the house. Heavy rain and strong winds have started wreaking havoc on Japan’s Okinawa and surrounding islands. Flights from one island to another have also been suspended in view of the threat of floods.
