Zelenskyy on india: The war between Russia and Ukraine has now become a war of words apart from the field. While Putin warned of a nuclear attack, Zelensky has also given a statement in favor of India after PM Modi called the war with the Russian President meaningless. In the United Nations Security Council, Zelensky said in a stern tone that why India and Ukraine are not permanent members of the Security Council. Zelensky said in his pre-recorded message during the leaders’ general debate at the General Assembly, “A lot has been talked about reforming the United Nations.” How all this will be handled, no result came out.

Zelensky vents anger at the UN

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday lashed out at the United Nations. He said that it has been several months since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but so far no solution has been found from the United Nations side. Not only this, Zelensky asked what is the reason why India, Japan, Brazil and Ukraine are not permanent members of the UN Security Council. Zelensky said that ‘the day will surely come when it will be resolved’.

Ukraine’s President Zelensky said in his pre-recorded message during the general debate of global leaders at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday that “many great things have been said about the reform of the United Nations, but how to deal with it all”. It does not seem to yield any results.

Zelensky said that ‘If you look closely at our peace formula, you will find that it has already been implemented under the real reform of the United Nations. Our sutra is universal and connects the world from north to south end. It encourages increasing the representation of people in the world who have never been heard.’

Russia never talked about peace even though it is a permanent member: Zelensky

He said, ‘Only Ukraine is saying this. Have you ever heard such words from Russia when it is a permanent member of the Security Council? For what reason, what is the reason why Japan, Brazil, Turkey, India, Germany or Ukraine are not its members. The day will surely come when this issue will be resolved.

India has been pushing for reforms in the Security Council

Zelensky also talked about India with certain countries in the permanent members. In fact, India has also been trying for a long time for permanent membership in the United Nations. Many other countries including America, Britain are in support of India. Only in this matter, China has always stuck its leg. India has been at the forefront of efforts at the United Nations to push for urgently pending reforms in the Security Council. India itself has asserted that it deserves a place as a permanent member of the Security Council. At present, the UN Security Council consists of five permanent members and 10 non-permanent member states, who are elected by the UN General Assembly for two-year terms.

India not being a permanent member is not good for the global community: Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said India not being a permanent member of the UN Security Council is “not just right not only for us, but also for this global body” and reforms “should have been done long ago”.

These are the 5 permanent members of the Security Council

The five permanent members are Russia, Britain, China, France and the United States. These countries have the power to veto any original proposal. Recently there has been a growing demand to increase the number of permanent members.
