Hardik Pandya, Hit and Flop: Team India had to face the first defeat in the Asia Cup 2022. In the Super 4 match played against Pakistan on Sunday, the Indian team lost this match by five wickets. Team India got a good start under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma but could not maintain it till the end. Although there are many big reasons for the team’s defeat, but there is one player in this, who failed completely in this match. We are talking about the team’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was the hero of the first win against Pakistan but disappointed in yesterday’s match.

Hardik could not contribute in any field. In this match of Super 4 against Pakistan, the team expected much better than Hardik but he could not live up to it this time. In fact, in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik was the only all-rounder of the team. Not only this, due to the exclusion of Avesh Khan, Hardik got the role of the third bowler. At the same time, in batting too, he had a chance to take the team to a big score. But Hardik failed in all three cases.

Could not even open account in batting

First let’s talk about Hardik’s batting. When Hardik came out to bat in the 14th over, the team’s score was 126/4 at that time and Virat Kohli was playing 35 runs in 25 balls at the other end. Here Hardik had to play a partnership with Virat and maintain the team’s run-rate. But he played just two balls and gave an easy catch to Nawaz off Hasnain’s ball. India could only manage 55 runs in the last six overs, in which eight runs were scored by Ravi Bishnoi in the last over.

Hardik plundered the most runs

Now let’s talk about Hardik’s bowling. He was playing in this match as the third fast bowler of the team. Being experienced, in a way, the responsibility was more on him. But here his bowling did not see the edge which was seen in the first match. Hardik proved to be the most expensive bowler for the team. He conceded 44 runs in four overs at an economy of 11 and was able to take one wicket.

Hero of victory was made in the first match

Taking a look at Hardik’s first match, the Indian all-rounder single-handedly won the team in the match played at the same ground in Dubai on August 28. Hardik was hit in every field in that match. He took three wickets for just 25 runs in the bowling of four overs. While batting unbeaten 33 runs in 17 balls played an important role in the team’s victory.
