Saurav Ganguly: The BCCI President and former Team India captain is one of the most famous people in the world at this time. After taking retirement from cricket, Ganguly has worked to raise Indian cricket as BCCI Chief for many years. For some time now, there is constant speculation that Ganguly is now planning to go to the ICC and he is also being considered as the next ICC President. However, now Ganguly has given a big statement on these speculations.

Ganguly’s big statement on becoming ICC President

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Thursday put to rest speculations that he will become the President of the ICC, saying that the post of ICC President is not in his hands. In July, the International Cricket Council approved the selection of the next president in November. After a meeting in Birmingham, it was decided that after Greg Barkley’s term ends this year, elections would be held by a simple majority and the next president’s term would be from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2024.

I don’t have ICC post: Ganguly

Since then there has been speculation about Ganguly’s name. When asked about this, he said, “The post of ICC President is not in my hands.” Under the new suggestion, the candidate needs 51 percent of the votes. The Indian team has not been in form for some time now and Ganguly admitted that not doing well in big tournaments is a matter of concern.

Ganguly worried about this

“Rohit Sharma’s win percentage is close to 80. India has lost the last three to four matches but before that 35. Lost only 5 or 6 out of 40 matches.” He said, “I am sure Rohit and Rahul Dravid will be worried that we have not done well in big tournaments. It will be talked about.” Regarding Virat Kohli’s century, he said, “It is a good thing that Virat played well in the Asia Cup and hopefully he will keep the momentum.”

Big statement about Jhulan

Women’s fast bowler Jhulan Goswami is going to say goodbye to international cricket after the third and final ODI against England. Describing him as a ‘legend’, Ganguly said, “Jhulan is a legend. We have had excellent relations in the last three years as BCCI President. She had a wonderful career and will continue to be a role model in women’s cricket.
