T20 World Cup 2022: Australia has announced its 15-player squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. Defending champions Australia have included a shocking name in their squad. All-rounder Tim David, who plays for Singapore, will now be seen playing for Australia. He will also visit India to play the T20 series before the World Cup at the end of this month. Tim David was born in 1996 in Singapore. This six feet five inch tall Singapore all-rounder is also called the world’s busy cricketer. This is because he has been playing in different T20 leagues continuously. 26-year-old David is an all-rounder and bowls spin as well as explosive batting. David, who plays for the Singapore team, also plays in IPL, Caribbean Premier League, Pakistan Super League, County, T20 Blast, The Hundred and Big Bash League.

Did IPL debut with RCB

Tim made his debut in IPL last year in 2021. At that time he did not find any buyer in the auction, but later Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) signed him as a replacement in the absence of Finn Allen. However, before the mega auction this year, RCB released him and after that, Mumbai Indians, the most successful team of IPL, joined him. Mumbai spent a hefty sum of Rs 8.25 crore for him.

Tim David’s IPL career is not very big. But he has left his mark in his short career. In his first season i.e. 2021, he was able to play only one match, in which he scored one run in three balls. But this year he got a chance for Mumbai Indians in eight matches in which he has faced a total of 86 balls. In this, he scored 186 runs at an average of 37.20 and a strike rate of 216. During this he also hit 12 fours and 16 sixes.

Tim’s international career

Talking about David’s international career, he has played 14 T20I matches so far. In this he has scored 558 runs at an average of 46.50 and strike rate of 158. During this he also played four half-centuries. His unbeaten innings of 92 runs, his best score. David has also taken five wickets in these 14 matches.

David’s T20 career

Tim David mostly plays in T20 leagues. He is in demand in leagues around the world and he is successful here too. Looking at his T20 career, he has scored 2640 runs in 122 matches at an average of 32.19 and a strike rate of 164. He has also scored 11 half-centuries during this period.
