US Open 2022: Rafael Nadal’s winning campaign continues at the US Open 2022. The Spanish giant has taken a step further towards his 23rd Grand Slam victory by winning the third round match. Nadal, 36, knocked out France’s Richard Gasquet in a one-sided match in the third round of men’s singles here. Nadal won 6-0, 6-1 and 7-5 against Gasquet.

After defeating Gasquet, Nadal maintained his 100 percent win record against him. This is Nadal’s 18th win against the French player and he has not lost to this player till date. Nadal completely dominated Gasquet in this third round match and did not give his opponent any chance to recover.

Second seed Nadal will now face 22nd seed Francis Tiafo of America. Francis defeated 14th seed Diego Schwartzman of Argentina 7-6 (7), 6-4, 6-4 in the third round match.

Inga Switek in fourth round

In the women’s singles event, world number one Inga Switek also continued her winning streak. She advanced to the fourth round with a 6-3, 6-4 win over unseeded American Lauren Davis. French Open champion Switek made a strong comeback in the second set after going 1-4 down to win five games in a row to win the match. The 21-year-old star player will now face China’s young Zheng Qinwen or Jule Niemeyer.
